About Karla
We are a Colombia-based team working on a journalistic AI that helps write articles and process information on current events. We are working on a prototype and are ambitious to quickly rollout products and features.
The role
We are looking for someone with a solid background in frontend development and building backend infrastructure. You should share our fascination with AI and ambition to build something new. As you are joining a small team, you will have an incredible opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our journey. You'll significantly impact the product and engineering setup and be able to contribute your own ideas.
Technologies We Love
We're at an early stage, so this will evolve a lot. You will have a vital role as an early team member in shaping our technical direction & choices. Currently we use NextJS, develop things with React and use the ChatGPT API.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Develop features from ideation to shipping.
- Try out new features and iterate on the product.
- Help us improve our tech stack workflows.
We're early, you’ll be influential in defining our engineering culture and team set up.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience creating frontend applications and backend infrastructure.
- An eye for design and passion for achieving great UIs.
- Experience working with LLMs is a plus.
- You should be excited about autonomy and be able to move fast and build products end-to-end.
- We are prototyping, so the focus is on rolling out features quickly, not writing the most efficient or beautiful code. If you can do both, that’s even better.
- You should have interest in shaping the technical direction of the company, including driving vital architectural choices.
- We are working on something innovative, so a willingness to learn and try new things is essential.
